In The Beginning...
It's been 8 days since I signed up for the Bentonville Half Marathon, and I have had so much fun getting back into shape.
Just kidding.
Zero fun.
It has been zero fun getting back into shape.
I knew I shouldn't've had all those cookies...
I'm not really sure how long I thought it would take me, but when I look back at my college years, It took almost 2 years for our head coach to mention that I had "finally lost my baby fat." It took almost 3 years for me to not be the last person doing our ab exercises, wondering if I had just lost count.
I have been running and doing leg, arm and abdominal workouts for 8 days now, with one day of rest. I can say that now, near the end of my runs, I don't feel that bad! I do feel every single muscle propelling one foot in front of the other. Also, I feel like I could run a little farther tomorrow, which is good. So now that that is said and done (that being, me starting to work out again), I am going to try to work on getting my pace down.
Before we decided to do this half marathon, Hunter and I were going to do Whole 30 in February. I don't forsee that being a possibility with the amount of training we will be doing and the carb intake we will need, but we will be starting to eat much much better and I'm looking forward to sharing some of our favorite recipes!
Our next challenge is finding ways and times to work out during break.
