Almost There

Warning: My pregnancy brain is in full swing, so if this post seems a little less interesting or confusing in any way, I'm blaming the pregnancy hormones.

It's already mid May and Baby Boy's due date is drawing near. We have 4 weeks left until his due date - yikes! As far as being pregnant goes, I have felt like I've had a rather fair pregnancy. The first 16 weeks were plagued with nausea and lack of appetite, and the 2nd trimester can be summed up by saying I got about 4-5 hrs of sleep a night. This last trimester has been interesting but I mostly just feel huge. All this baby weight is hard to carry around in my 5 foot 2 inch body! I have recently broken out in teeny tiny hives on my hands and feet. Luckily you can't see them, but man they sure do itch sometimes! Good thing Benadryl cream exists. The baby has dropped (I'm pretty sure because a few weeks ago my pelvis suddenly felt like it is going to crumble under the baby's pressure - and still does. Especially when I've been sleeping and then get up to go pee.) and often times sticks his legs or foot or butt right up into what feels like my stomach & diaphragm. So fun! Not really, but it is a sweet mother-son moment and I'm thankful that he is still healthy and alive in there.

Many a thing has happened since the first week of April - I will only include the things we have pictures for. That's the best way for me to remember things these days :)

We have been so blessed by family and friends and are so appreciative of the showers that were thrown for us! My small group girls threw me a shower one Sunday during our service and we ate lots of cupcakes and then took a squinty picture in the sun. Speaking of our small group, our two wonderful student leaders graduated this past week (getting so old!). A few of the girls and I got to watch Maris and Melanie be announced, prayed for and celebrated in community worship! They will go on to do great things and are a two wonderful examples of Christ to those around them!

We also had the chance to visit family in St. Louis for a shower. We are so blessed by them and are so dear to us. We absolutely loved spending time with them, getting to see everyone, getting to meet the new babies and just eat and catch up. Nicole, my sister, and my mom gathered all the details and put everything together. The Roman women put together all the food and the entire day was a success! Between the shower and everyone staying for dinner, we had a really great time. (Side note: Nicole is currently in Japan for an economics class with the University of Arkansas. If you want to keep up with how she is doing and all the cool things she gets to experience, visit her blog! [shameless promo]).

This past weekend Dad came down to help us with a garage sale AND help us get ready for the Rogers young families crawfish boil. We could not have had a garage sale without Dad's help (since I can't lift hardly anything these days). It was a whirlwind of a weekend, but lots of fun! Now, only one packed weekend left until our calendars are completely clear and ready for the baby to arrive.

These sweet ladies threw me a shower during our small group time! Love them!

Dad and Hunter dominated some sushi after our crawfish boil prep and garage sale hard work.

Crawfish boil.

More of the crawfish boil.

My first strawberry came in! After a full year, these things are giving me 6 strawberries A DAY.  (Unless the birds get to them first).

Senior recognition in Rogers Community Worship

A few of the girls to see Maris and Melanie be recognized.

We got to celebrate this sweet little lady's first birthday!

Baby's room is about finished!

Hunter and Dad installed a new door.

Nicole helping set up for the shower.

My sweet husband, whom I love so much!
Clearly, we are sisters.

Cousins with babies picture.

Silly picture!

Our favorite gift from the weekend. Compliments of Bill and Ginny (my grandparents) and totally awesome!
