2012 wrap up and a glimpse into 2013!
So much had happened in 2012, and I personally am excited for 2013! I think we both need to be honest with each other: We all know that I, Alex, am the one who usually types up these things, so I will now just talk in 1st person.
Here are some of our favorite moments of 2012:
- My graduation from the University of Arkansasas well as the end of my diving career.
- Our summer road trip across the Western US.
-The celebration of our 1st year of marriage (and Hunter's niece's 1st year of life)
- Hunter's offer and acceptance of his current job.
- Christmas in Montana (which will be mentioned later)
- Moving to Rogers
- Making new friends
- Visiting Crystal Bridges Art Museum
I know, somewhat of a boring list, but you could see what we've been doing by looking back at the rest of our posts. As I mentioned earlier, we went to Montana for Christmas! It was a long 25hr drive (one way), but definitely worth it. The beauty of the mountains and surrounding areas is something we all know can't be described. Hunter and I got there and had two days to get everything ready for everyone to arrive, get our feet underneath us on the mountain and for me to get my "mountain moments" out. Hey, skiing is hard when you haven't done it in 10 years! Luckily, Hunter is very patient with me and helped me grow up. He's a very good teacher and a better skier for sure, so it worked out. My dad, sister and brother came up on the 23rd and then my mom and Hunter's parents flew in on Christmas day. This was the first year in 4 years that I've gotten to spend Nicole's birthday with her and it was all so fun! Unfortunately, dad broke his leg and did some ligament damage while skiing, but luckily it was on his 4th day and not his 1st. Hunter and I spent our last 2 afternoons snowboarding. I even got Hunter to go off a box with me! That was one of my favorite moments. Our last day there, we got to pick up Hunter's sister and her husband and daughter at the airport. Overall, we really enjoyed our time with family and friends.
Hunter's favorite Christmas present has been Settlers of Catan. We haven't stopped playing since Christmas day.
In honor of the New Year, I'd like to share some of my personal resolutions with you:
- Learn a new skill every month
- Cook dinner at least 3 times a week (I don't cook much, never have, but hopefully will more!)
- Find a place to use my degree - Spanish/Latin American Studies
There are more, but I am afraid that if I make too many, then I won't do any of them. I think there's a technical "law" term for that, but I'm not sure. Oh well.
We will leave you with some pictures from our latest adventure:
