A Big Week!

Over the past week, our lives have changed radically! Luckily, we have had about 9 months of a calm (-ish) married life before everything gets put into fast-forward and life seems to be flying by! We feel so blessed to be given the opportunities we now have, and are so thankful that God has been faithful to us!

Two weeks ago, neither of us had a future (job-wise) and we were praying that God would provide us with what He wants us to do. Whether that be certain jobs we had our eyes on, or something completely different! In fact, we had even gotten to a point where we were discussing what it would look like to move to another country and live a missionary life! The Lord, however, clearly has a plan for us here in NWA (Northwest Arkansas). Within a week, we found out that Hunter had secured a job with FBC, and Alex had two "interviews" with prospective teams for my internship for next year (As said in the previous post, Alex will be working with the 3&4th grade team). Within a few days, we both knew exactly what we would be doing, along with the knowledge that we would be moving to Rogers, Arkansas, since Hunter's job is a Rogers position! Rogers is located about 25-30 min. north of Fayetteville (where we currently reside).

Buying a house is a new thing to us, and we were very excited about starting the house buying process! We had our eyes on a certain house close to the church we will both be working in, however other buyers had already put in an offer, and we didn't feel the need to rush into things and attempt to outbid buyers on a house that we weren't all too crazy for (once we went inside). We also found another house in an ideal location that had been foreclosed and would have been sold for around $60/square foot. We had our realtor look into whether or not anyone had bid on it, but another couple had just bought the house a week before. That was a bummer, but God has a plan for us, and down the street was another house for sale at a decent price. We toured the house and felt good about it! The design, the location, everything fits perfectly for a long-term investment, so we put in an offer! After two counter offers, we decided that we would put in our final offer and if it wasn't accepted, we would walk away. We got to a place where we were perfectly fine with moving on to another house if it were God's plan. Long story short, the sellers accepted our offer, and we are on our way to being first-time house owners! We are extremely excited! Assuming everything goes through, we will be sending out "We're Moving" cards with new addresses around July, once we close and move in!

On a more personal note: we had very different weekends. Alex traveled to St. Louis to celebrate, with her family, the wedding shower of Natassia Riordan (who will be marrying Danny Ott)! The shower was wonderful and beautiful and it was so nice to see family! There were about 45 women in attendance, and a few cute and adorable babies! Lots of bodies and lots of fun! Personally, Sienna is the cutest thing alive, but that is just our opinion. (She actually has her own blog!)

On the other hand, Hunter went to the Red White Razorback Spring Football game! This is an intra-squad (not sure if that's the correct word, but going for it anyway) scrimmage as well as the event where senior/yearly awards are given. Jerry Franklin was given his jersey, and received the awards of Team Captains as well as Defensive Player for the 2011-2012 year! Woo hoo! Go Jerry! The Red team ended up winning in a 65 point blow-out! Wow! We are looking forward to a new era of Razorback Football and will always be avid fans of the team!

*** During the wedding shower, Alex was told that the title of our blog was very similar (actually, it's exactly the same) to a movie. So, we may be changing the title of our blog to something else!
